These are typical installed system costs used across our own quotation and savings tools — not a specific installer's price list. Treat them as a starting point for budgeting, then get itemized quotes to compare against your actual roof, brand choices, and location.

Grid-tied (no battery) systems sit at the lower end of each range; hybrid systems with battery storage cost more but add backup power during outages.
What Actually Changes the Price
- Panel & inverter brand — Tier-1 brands (e.g. JA Solar, LONGi, Trina, Jinko, Canadian Solar, Deye) cost more than off-brand equivalents but carry stronger warranties.
- Grid-tied vs. hybrid — adding a battery for backup power is the single biggest line-item increase.
- Roof type & mounting complexity — steel/GI roofs and multi-level or steep roofs need more racking and labor than a flat concrete slab.
- Net metering application — permit and utility application fees are usually a small but real add-on most quotes should itemize separately.
- Location & logistics — freight and mobilization costs for installers outside major metro areas can add to the total.
